A note from my kitchen (& Preston’s corner!) to yours.
This is my introductory “For the Pup!” recipe — where my little sous chef, Preston, gets these treats all to himself. He especially loves them after a long walk, sniffing every corner of the neighborhood.
I kept them simple and wholesome, using ingredients I already had in my kitchen. Nothing fancy — just a way to say, “you’re part of this kitchen too.” 💕
Why this recipe works: A handful of wholesome ingredients blend together into a cool summer treat that’s easy to portion, freezer-friendly, and guaranteed to earn a wagging tail.
🚨🐾 Dog Kitchen Safety Note 🐾🚨
This recipe uses dog-friendly ingredients, but always introduce new foods slowly and in moderation. Avoid onion, garlic, chocolate, grapes, raisins, xylitol (can be found in some peanut butters and other sugar-free products), and excess salt. If your pup has sensitivities or health conditions, check with your veterinarian before trying new treats.
INGREDIENTS FOR Frozen Pup Cups:
Full measurements in the recipe card below.
- Non-fat Greek Yogurt
- Chicken Stock
- Water
- Mozzarella Cheese Stick
RECOMMENDED KITCHEN TOOLS:
- Blender
- Silicone cupcake molds
- Baking sheet
HOW TO MAKE FROZEN PUP CUPS:
Step 1: Blend the Ingredients.
Place the Greek yogurt, chicken stock, water, and finely chopped mozzarella into a small blender. Blend until completely smooth and creamy.
Step 2: Fill the Molds & Freeze.
Arrange about 10 silicone cupcake molds on a baking sheet for stability. Pour the yogurt mixture into each mold, filling about 2–2½ tablespoons per cup. Transfer the baking sheet carefully to the freezer and freeze overnight, or until completely firm.
How to Serve Frozen Pup Cups:
- Serve straight from the freezer.
- Top with a mini dog biscuit or thin carrot ribbon for a fun finishing touch.
- Enjoy under supervision on a washable surface.
La Vita, Simplified:
Kitchen Tip: For smaller pups, freeze in ice cube trays instead of cupcake molds.
Kitchen Favorite: My Ninja Compact Blender is perfect for recipes like this because the smaller blending cup handles small batches without ingredients getting lost at the bottom.
Ingredient Tip: Use only low-sodium chicken broth that’s free of onion and garlic.
Serving Tip: Serve as an occasional treat—not a meal replacement.
Serving Favorite: Silicone molds make removing frozen treats quick and easy.
