These PB & Pumpkin Pup Biscuits are simple and made with just a handful of pantry staples that come together quickly and always seem to disappear faster than expected.
🚨🐾 Dog Kitchen Safety Note 🐾🚨
This recipe uses dog-friendly ingredients, but always introduce new foods slowly and in moderation. Avoid onion, garlic, chocolate, grapes, raisins, xylitol (can be found in some peanut butters and other sugar-free products), and excess salt. If your pup has sensitivities or health conditions, check with your veterinarian before trying new treats.
What You’ll Need to Make PB & PUMPKIN PUP BISCUITS:
- Peanut Butter
- Canned Pumpkin
- Eggs
- Whole Wheat Flour
Equipment & Tools for PB & PUMPKIN PUP BISCUITS:
- Medium Mixing Bowl
- Rolling Pin
- Baking Sheet
- Bone-shaped Cookie Cutter (or alike!)
How to Make PB & PUMPKIN PUP BISCUITS:
Step 1: Prepare & Mix.
Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. In a medium mixing bowl, combine the peanut butter, pumpkin, and eggs until smooth. Gradually add the whole wheat flour, about ½ cup at a time, mixing between each addition until a dough begins to form. Optional: A stand mixer fitted with a paddle attachment makes this step even easier.
Step 2: Knead & Form Dough Ball.
Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead until a smooth, uniform dough ball forms.
Step 3: Roll & Cut-OUT
Using a rolling pin, roll the dough to approximately ¼-inch thickness. Cut into desired shapes using a bone-shaped cookie cutter or your favorite cutter.
Step 4: Bake & Cool.
Arrange biscuits on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until lightly golden and firm. Allow treats to cool completely before serving.
How to Serve PB & PUMPKIN PUP BISCUITS:
- Perfect for birthdays, gotcha days, training rewards, or everyday treats.
- Pair with an extra walk, belly rubs, or a new toy for maximum pup approval. 🙂
La Vita, Simplified:
- Bake time will vary depending on the thickness and size of your biscuits.
- For crunchier treats, leave the biscuits in the turned-off oven for 15–20 minutes after baking.
- Store in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
- For longer storage, freeze and thaw as needed.
- Natural peanut butter works best, but always check ingredients carefully.
