Infusions
- Ginger: 1 Tablespoon fresh ginger peels
- Peppercorn: ½ Tablespoon black peppercorns
- Rose: 1 Tablespoon dried edible rose petals
- Basil: 5 Large Basil leaves - roughly torn
In a small saucepan, whisk the sugar and water together on medium-high heat. Bring to a simmer and continue to keep on heat until the sugar is dissolved, about 7-10 minutes.
Turn off the heat and add the desired infusion ingredient. Cover and let infuse for 30 minutes.
Strain with small mesh strainer and discard infused ingredients
Let syrup cool completely before transferring to the storage jar or bottle. If you’re storing in a small bottle, use a funnel to then transfer to the bottle.
Buon Appetito!
Serving & Garnish Tips:
- Ginger Simple Syrup: Adds a spicy-sweet warmth to cocktails like a Whiskey Sour or Moscow Mule. Drizzle over fruit salad, or mix into hot tea for a soothing boost.
- Peppercorn Simple Syrup: Brings a subtle, peppery heat that’s lovely in a gin and tonic, lemonade, or brushed lightly on stone fruit before grilling.
- Rose Simple Syrup: Floral and elegant — perfect in champagne, sparkling water, or drizzled over vanilla gelato or panna cotta. A romantic touch for dessert plates or cocktails.
- Basil Simple Syrup: Fresh and herbal, ideal for summer spritz, iced tea, or mojitos. Try drizzling over fresh strawberries or stirring into lemonade for an Italian garden vibe.
How to Store:
