VERSATILE SIMPLE SYRUPS

Easy homemade flavored simple syrups with sugar, water, and fresh infusions like ginger, basil, rose, or peppercorn. Perfect for cocktails, desserts, or gifting.

Equipment

  • Small saucepan
  • Whisk
  • Small mesh strainer
  • Small funnel
  • Small jar for storage

Ingredients
  

Syrup

  • ½ cup Sugar
  • ½ cup Water

Ginger Infusion:

  • 1 Tablespoon Fresh Ginger Peels

Peppercorn Infusion:

  • ½ Tablespoon Black Peppercorns

Rose Infusion:

  • 1 Tablespoon Dried Edible Rose Petals

Basil Infusion:

  • 5 large Fresh Basil Leaves - roughly torn

Instructions

  • In a small saucepan, whisk the sugar and water together on medium-high heat. Bring to a simmer and continue to keep on heat until the sugar is dissolved, about 7-10 minutes.
  • Turn off the heat and add the desired infusion ingredient. Cover and let infuse for 30 minutes.
  • Strain with small mesh strainer and discard infused ingredients
  • Let syrup cool completely before transferring to the storage jar or funnel into a small bottle.
