This classic Negroni recipe combines equal parts Campari, gin and sweet vermouth for a bold, bittersweet Italian cocktail that's perfect for aperitivo hour.
Prosecco + Orange Slice or wedge, for garnish - optional garnish: fresh cranberries
Instructions
Add the Campari, gin and sweet vermouth to a mixing glass filled with ice.
Stir with a long bar spoon for 20–30 seconds, until well chilled. Do not shake.
Strain into a rocks glass over one large cube or sphere of ice.
Garnish with a thick orange peel.
Americano Variation: Add 1 ounce Campari and 1 ounce sweet vermouth to a rocks glass filled with ice. Stir to combine, then top with club soda. Garnish with an orange slice.
Negroni Sbagliato Variation: Add 1 ounce Campari and 1 ounce sweet vermouth to a rocks glass filled with ice and stir to combine. Top with 1 ounce Prosecco or dry sparkling wine. Garnish with an orange slice or wedge and, if desired, a few fresh cranberries for a seasonal garnish!
